Washington Alliance for Health Data Exchange
Statewide Health & Social Data Infrastructure for a Stronger, Healthier Washington
Overview
Launched in January 2026, the Washington Alliance for Health Data Exchange (WAHDX) is Washington State’s shared, secure, and equitable health and social data infrastructure. WAHDX enables authorized partners—including community health organizations, providers, payers, public health agencies, social service entities, and researchers—to access the trusted data they need to:
Improve care delivery
Strengthen community well‑being
Inform policy and system design
Advance social and health equity
WAHDX reduces duplication, protects privacy, and ensures that no community or organization is left behind. With a use‑case driven model, WAHDX delivers meaningful value to partners and communities statewide.

Seamlessly connects health and social systems
Reduces burdens for providers and community organizations
Strengthens whole‑person care
Enables smarter decision‑making and equitable policy

“Across Washington, we all share the same goal: using data or evidence to improve the health of our communities. WAHDX builds upon the state’s investment in our Electronic Heath Record systems and Health Information Exchange and provides the trusted data infrastructure we need to collaborate efficiently, more effectively, and act with confidence.”
Byrant T. Karras, MD, FACMI

“WAHDX is being built with the input of many—and it will only succeed with the participation of many more. Together, we can build a more connected, equitable, and data-driven future for Washington.”
